Harlem is a neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City, long known as a major African American cultural and business center.  Harlem has seen rapid gentrification in the late 1990s.   Former U.S. President Bill Clinton rented office space in the area after completing his second term in the White House in 2001.

Music, culture and the history of Harlem are celebrated annually with Food tasting, art exhibits, concerts, music, street entertainment, sporting events, and more at the Harlem Week/Harlem Jazz & Music Festival.  Generally scheduled in June.

Harlem is generally located between 155th Street between the East and Hudson Rivers down to 100th Street at the north end of Central Park.
